Lá Spraoi Mhacha will be taking place this Sunday, the 16th, for the fourth year running!
This fun-filled day aims to promote the use of the Irish language outside of the classroom. Everyone is welcome, from all communities and backgrounds, to come along, enjoy the activities and experience a day of Irish culture.
For the past four years, a small group of dedicated volunteers have worked hard to organise this event, with help and support from charitable organisations and social enterprises. We now ask you, the public, to get behind Lá Spraoi Mhacha this Sunday, whether that’s by coming along and enjoying the day, spreading the word, or simply encouraging others to attend.
We also welcome anyone with ‘cúpla focal’ to come along and lend a hand on the day. Every bit of support is greatly appreciated.
Hopefully, going forward, as with other events held in Armagh, certain departments will recognise the value of Lá Spraoi Mhacha and be willing to provide support, particularly given the growing number of children attending Irish-medium education in the town.
Buíochas to our initial funders who have supported us each year – Naíscoil Na Caille Desart Lodge Nursery Gael Linn Aonach Mhacha West Armagh Consortium & Neighbourhood Renewal.
So come along, bring the family, bring your cúpla focal, and help us make this year’s Lá Spraoi Mhacha another great day for the community!
Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday! 💚
